A doctoral study conducted by Emídio Dimande, School of Behavioral Sciences, Liberty University.

The purpose of this study, titled “Experiences of Mozambican Women Before, During, and After Divorce: A Phenomenology” is to understand the transitions and meaning making of Mozambican women before, during, and after divorce.
As a divorced woman, this is an opportunity to articulate your lived experiences and validate your struggles. Women’s health and wellbeing underpin family and community stability and carry broader implications for collective social health.
By sharing your story, you contribute to a deeper understanding of coping practices, resilience processes, and the mental health needs of women in the Mozambican cultural context.


We are looking for participants who meet the following criteria:

Female
You must identify as female.
Age 19+
You must be at least 19 years old.
Mozambican
Native of Mozambique and currently residing in the country.
Divorced
Previously married in Mozambique and experienced divorce.
